Taking over proceedings – successor judge – predecessor judge – re-assignment – revisional jurisdiction.
- A successor judge or magistrate can take over proceedings for any reason which makes the predecessor unable to complete the trial. Reason for the take over should explicitly be shown in the record of proceedings.
- A successor judge or magistrate has no authority to take over proceedings without a duly recorded reason explaining the inability of the predecessor to complete the trial.
